The C Mixolydian Scale in All 7 Positions
This C Mixolydian scale should be learned by thinking the notes (i.e. C,
D, E) or by thinking the degrees (C=I, D=II, etc.). Do not just memorize a
fingering pattern. Spend a week playing all of the positions, so you get
a feel for all the different places it can be played. After mastering the C
Mixolydian in every position, you should learn this scale form in all keys.
Use the circle of fifths (C, F, Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, B, E, A, D, G) to move
through the keys.
