Van halen extends tour– Who would have guessed that Roth and the Van Halens could live
together in peace? With a critically and commercially successful tour and five newly announced dates
in hand, it looks like we’re going to be seeing a lot more of the boys.
OFF
guitar hero gone– We’re not big fans of fake guitar, but once we heard that people were
buying the newly-released Guitar Hero III and finding the box empty upon their return home, we had
heavy hearts. Fake or not, people need guitar during the holiday season.
STANDBY
Mr. roboto– Last month, we gave the sudden disappearance of the Gibson Les Paul Power Tune
a standby. Now it’s back, albiet as the “Robot Guitar.” Expectations are high at Gibson, but will this
make any more waves than the original?
OFF
cynical editors– We originally gave the Van Halen tour a standby and the Zeppelin reunion an
off. Now it looks like both are a go. When did the media become so jaded?
ON
elvis costello’s Signature– As first reported by our friends at the Electric Guitar Review, it looks like
Fender is putting together an Elvis Costello Signature Jazzmaster, based on the guitar he posed with on his
debut, My Aim is True. Little else is known, but our hats are off to the boys in Corona, California for recognizing
a musical pioneer.
