Holiday cheer must have infiltrated the PG offices
this winter because we gave away tons of gear in
December. Ten winners received custom wound
Seymour Duncan Custom Shop ‘ 78 Model humbuckers, while one reader was lucky enough to
find a Delta Wing Tomcat from the Gary Kramer
Custom Shop under her tree.
The Gary Kramer Custom Shop Delta Wing
Tomcat features a Solar Yellow Metallic finish and
the innovative and ergonomic Delta Wing shape.
The body is solid Honduran mahogany, and
features a maple neck and ebony fingerboard
with mother of pearl dot inlays. The guitar’s
hardware and headstock are a contrasting black
with a DiMarzio Tone Zone pickup at the bridge
and a DiMarzio Air Classic at the neck.
The Seymour Duncan Custom Shop ’ 78 Model
humbucker is a faithful recreation of the
legendary Alnico 2, PAF-style hum-
bucker designed in 1978 by Seymour
Duncan himself. The hand-created
pickups feature bobbins wound with
42-gauge plain enamel wire, plus a
nickel-silver bottom plate and single
conductor braided shield cable. Each
Alnico 2 magnet is specially calibrat-
ed by Seymour to achieve a “worn-in”
sound. With a resistance around 9K,
these pickups are suitable for everything
from blues to classic rock.
Congratulations to our winners!
