Get To Know Us
The advent of personal computing, the steady
march of technology and the dreadful coming of the office cubicle have all conspired to
depersonalize our work, to isolate us from each
other and to increase anonymity. That’s certainly the case in corporate America and sadly even
in the field of media, where there once existed
more personal bonds between magazines and
their editors and the readers they served.
I personally think these developments leave us
all somehow feeling more isolated and, ironically, in an era of connectivity, less connected.
So, I’m taking pen in hand to tell you more
about us as people and to ask you to personally help us shape the products
and services we provide for you.
Our multi-platform media business now serves over 300,000 serious and
accomplished guitarists globally through our magazine, our website and the
community’s first digital magazine. We also provide a great amount of free
and accessible content in the form of daily news; multimedia instructional
lessons powered by TrueFire; and an interactive service for buying, selling
and trading gear. We’re also regularly filming and reporting from events,
conferences, trade shows, manufacturing facilities and retail establishments.
These activities, and the growing success we’re enjoying providing these services, has many fathers and mothers, and is delivered through the efforts of
what I regard as one of the most qualified staffs in the business. I’d encourage you to meet our gang by going to www.premierguitar.com/About/
AboutUs.aspx, where you’ll find pictures, biographies and contact information for each of my colleagues. We’re all here to serve you and to assist in
any way we can in your own “relentless pursuit of tone.”
I’d also like to actively encourage you to constructively critique our efforts;
to submit story ideas you’d like us to consider for publication; and to suggest new products/services we can develop to better serve you.
My old man always told me, “never forget who brought you to the dance”
so it’s fitting that I close by again thanking my colleagues; our advertisers
who partially support our efforts with their promotional investments; and of
course, you, our loyal readers, without whom there would be no dance at all
and the music we play would simply die.
I really hope that once you know us a little better, you’ll pick up the phone,
drop us a line or shoot us an email. You’ll always get a prompt answer and
that’s a promise.
Thanks for your time, interest and readership.
Sincerely,
Peter Sprague
