For the past few months, Premier Guitar has been featuring online
readers’ collections in our weekly Backstage Pass newsletter. So
far, we’ve seen everything from multi-colored Fender Coronados
and a huge Kramer collection, courtesy of Mark Schwarzel, to four
mid-fifties Strats and a Seafoam Green Jazzmaster and Jaguar
from musician Robby Z.
Along the way, we’ve learned to appreciate collections of
all shapes and sizes. Whatever the reason behind the collections—many of reader Alan Keith’s guitars came from
his uncles, while Russ Dunn says he got some of his guitars
because, “I simply thought [they] looked cool”—each collection that was sent into us offered a unique take on love of
We realized that there are tons of untapped collections out
there—many of which reside in our print readers’ basements or
studios. This is a call to all of you gear nuts to submit your collections to share with the world.
Whether it’s kooky one-offs or valuable vintage, a room full of
amps or your most prized effects, we want to see them. Just
e-mail photos, along with captions and some information about
your habit to
email@example.com and you’ll be in consideration to be a Premier Collector.
We will also periodically feature collections within these pages,
like those of Mark Schwarzel, Mark Dewey and Lorne Sheaves
featured here, so the better quality of photos, the more likely they
will be chosen for print.
You can sign up for our Backstage Pass to see the collections, plus get notification of all of our web content and giveaways, at
premierguitar.com/newsletter. You can also search
“Collector” on premierguitar.com to see all of the collections
we’ve featured so far.
