Paul Gilbert hit the stage at the House of Blues for a show with Richie Kotzen. His axe of choice was a
sunburst Ibanez with painted f-holes and humbuckers. The guitar differs from his current Ibanez PGM301
signature model, which is white with a reverse headstock and a two-PAF, one single coil pickup configuration. A preview of new models to come? We’ll have to wait and see.
Paul wears drummers’ headphones on stage to combat hearing loss caused by high stage volumes. In an
interview with rocksquad.net, Paul said that he prefers the bulky headphones to in-ear monitors because
they are easily removed if he wants to let the stage noise in.
