As if 2008’s third version of the Experience
Hendrix tour wasn’t already star-studded
enough—featuring Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell
(who died ten days later), Buddy Guy, Eric
Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brad Whit-ford, Chris Layton, special guest Robby Krieger
and many other notables—the tour also
included Hendrix influence Hubert Sumlin, who
was in Howlin’ Wolf’s band. Here Sumlin trades
licks with Guy on “Shoulda Quit You.”
