Louder & More
The brainchild of a unique partnership between Börn
Juhl, the “Mad Professor,” and Aleksander Niemand, of
Tubewonder fame, The Louder & More is a small but serious
Swedish prodigy. Available as a Head or 1x12 Combo with
an innovative baffle design for wide horizontal coverage,
the amp features a solid state preamp design with a single
ECL82/6BM8 tube power section (we kind of scratched our
heads, too). The coolest feature is the inventive “More” control, which is a continuously variable output tube operation
control that sweeps between triode, ultralinear and pentode
mode, and varies the power output from 1 to 3 watts. As if
that weren’t enough, the effects loop has a footswitch-acti-vated buffer that doubles as a solo boost when no effects are
connected. Look for this around March.

MC-404 CAE Wah
Developed by Bob Bradshaw of Custom Audio Electronics and
Dunlop’s Crybaby design team, the MC-404 will be a welcome addi-
tion to the board of any high-end wah aficionado. The MC-404 was
primarily built with versatility in mind; it features two voices (a high-end emphasis or more low/mid resonance), courtesy of dual Fasel
inductors, as well as a built-in boost/line driver for more beef, controlled by a side-mounted kick switch. Internal pots for “Q” and gain
adjustments round out the tone shaping options, while top-notch
componentry, including a custom-designed, extended-life CTS potentiometer, make this a potential friend for years.

Euphonix MC Control
Musicians who dabble in home recording and Final Cut Video editing, will be pleasantly surprised coming across the Euphonix MC
Control. It’s an extremely powerful control surface for your recording
and video applications, running Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic, and Final
Cut Pro with equal ease and flexibility, and boasting a fully programmable touch screen, jog wheel, and four motorized faders to get
your projects moving. Those looking for a solid controller for some
time will be attracted to the MC Control functions for Cubase. The
MC Control was designed to replace the keyboard and mouse in
your home set up, and with a little effort in programming your touch
screen and soft keys, this unit will do just that. It is a little pricier than
your normal hobbyist controller, but add on the MC MIX (you can
actually add up to four), and you have a control surface that can push
you from casual user to full-on engineer in no time.
