“It would have taken me a year of lessons every day to get the level of expertise I’ve
been exposed to in a week.”

bassists, keyboardists, drummers, and vocalists of all styles and abilities.
at NGw there are 3 great ways to learn: seminar, summit, and core.
seMiNar
Seminars are a perfect choice for intermediate and advanced players. They are intensive
programs that focus on specific subjects, styles, or artists. Students spend their week
immersed in the topic of their choice. Some seminars include an ensemble component.
All seminar students have additional opportunities to perform throughout the week.
sUMMiT
Summits are designed for intermediate and advanced players who want to immerse
themselves in a particular style. Students choose classes that focus on specific topics within
the genre, apply advanced techniques to repertoire, and work to master their instrument.
Opportunities during the week may include studying with a variety of teachers, as well
as working with ensembles or jam sessions with a rhythm section. Guest Artists offer
Master Workshops during the program. All Summit students have additional opportunities to
perform throughout the week.
cOre
The Core curriculum is perfect for beginning and intermediate students who have a wide
variety of interests. Students work on skills including improvisation, theory, ear training,
and fretboard knowledge while learning songs. They play daily with a rhythm section and
perform on stage in a concert. In addition, they attend daily clinics in a variety of special subjects.
