Also published for the first time, this NOS shot of
Jimmy Page with his ‘50s Danelectro Shorthorn
Standard 3021 (later reissued from 1998-1999 as the
59-DC) was taken during the first of two European
warm-up gigs for Led Zeppelin’s 1975 North American
tour. Jimmy assembled the axe from two different
guitars and a new bridge. The show featured songs
from the Physical Graffiti double album, which was
released during the second half of the 39-date tour.
Jimmy had just smashed his left ring finger in a train
door, prompting him to temporarily drop “Dazed and
Confused” from the set list and soldier on, eventually
developing his three finger playing style.
