Specials, one from Craigslist & one from a
forum member here. I remember playing one
back in the 80s that belonged to the bass
player of a band I was in. I liked it a lot and
figured I pick one up someday. Well, 20 years
later I saw one here in the forum last week and
bought it (Thanks Ken!) and a day later I saw

Congratulations on your purchase. I was like
you and played my friend’s late ‘80s Standard
w/crown inlays & binding during the early
‘90s. I like the flame maple top on your
Studio and the P- 90 pickups on the Special. It
reminds me of a ‘50s Les Paul Junior. My first
Hamer was a ‘ 95 Studio with archtop & binding. One of my favorite Hamer guitars and
now I own a few now. -Guitar George

one on Craigslist & bought it. One arrived last
week and the other arrived today. My wife is
out so I got to really give them a good workout thru my Mesa F- 50 & JCM800. They play
as nice as I remember. The necks are fantastic.
The humbuckered one has a flame maple
top & sounds good. The P- 90 one is solid
Mahogany and sounds unbefrikkenbelievable!
However, this vintage plexi sold on ebay for
7 grand! Way way waaaaaay out of my price
range. Is there anyway I can get this tone in a
lower wattage amp for under a grand?
