Anywhere two gearheads are gathered, Premier Guitar is interested in what’s going on. We want to know which
guitars, amps and pedals are being talked about, which mod ideas are being shared, what someone has to
say about seeing Jeff Beck’s latest show, etc. We get the feeling that you do, too. As such, Premier Guitar has
teamed up with the Gear Page, one of the most active gear discussion forums on the internet, to explore ways
to facilitate the flow of gear conversation goodness between us. We thought we’d bring you a “Greatest Hits,”
so to speak, of recent Gear Page threads that may be of interest to you. Wanna get in on one of these discussion
threads? Go to

Two Hamers
in One Week
remedied that mistake by buying an Artist off
ebay last night. Enjoy those beauties!
John Thigpen: Mike Campbell does some
pretty cool tele tones, such as “Refugee.”
HoboMan: I bought two mid-90s Hamer
Specials, one from Craigslist & one from a
forum member here. I remember playing one
back in the 80s that belonged to the bass
player of a band I was in. I liked it a lot and
figured I pick one up someday. Well, 20 years
later I saw one here in the forum last week and
bought it (Thanks Ken!) and a day later I saw
Bjjp2: I have several Specials. They’re great.
Coco Tone: David Hildago on Crossroads.
Thickest Tele tone I have ever heard.
Hamer95USA: Hey HoboMan,
Congratulations on your purchase. I was like
you and played my friend’s late ‘80s Standard
w/crown inlays & binding during the early
‘90s. I like the flame maple top on your
Studio and the P- 90 pickups on the Special. It
reminds me of a ‘50s Les Paul Junior. My first
Hamer was a ‘ 95 Studio with archtop & binding. One of my favorite Hamer guitars and
now I own a few now. -Guitar George
TeeVee: Jeff Buckley – Grace.
tga-3: 1970 Jim Messina – Poco,
“Deliverin’” – What a great live Tele tone!
What is Your Reference
Tele Tone?
Wrxplayer: Since I’m playing rhythm
in a cover band and doing a lot of Stones
and using a tele w/ HB and nocaster pups
I’d have to say Keith Richards. But I’ve also
heard Jimmy Page make wonderful sounds
with his Telecasters.
jpervin: For me, I’d have to say Steve
Cropper’s Tele on Otis Redding’s “(Sittin’ On)
The Dock Of The Bay”. So simple, yet so soulful!
This is the Tone
I want! Help!
theactor19: I want this tone:

fenderiarhs: “I won’t tell you no lies” –
Roy Buchanan.
Gas-man: James Burton’s tone on “Corn
Pickin’ and Slick Slidin’.”
Sniper-V: Pretty much everything here…

one on Craigslist & bought it. One arrived last
week and the other arrived today. My wife is
out so I got to really give them a good workout thru my Mesa F- 50 & JCM800. They play
as nice as I remember. The necks are fantastic.
The humbuckered one has a flame maple
top & sounds good. The P- 90 one is solid
Mahogany and sounds unbefrikkenbelievable!
However, this vintage plexi sold on ebay for
7 grand! Way way waaaaaay out of my price
range. Is there anyway I can get this tone in a
lower wattage amp for under a grand?
xntrick: doesn’t Ceriatone or Metroamp
make a clone of this amp?
SoCalSteve: Great guitars! I foolishly
sold a Studio a couple of years ago but have
Jota:
Jim Campilongo and Rich Robinson on the
more heavy side
mody: Check out a Dr.Z Remedy. Great
value and tone
