The Musikmesse international trade fair is held
every year in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and

is the world’s leading trade fair in the musical instruments industry. In addition to musical
instruments of every conceivable category, the
fair also presents the latest in computer software, hardware, sheet music and accessories.
This year’s fair, which ran from April 1–4, saw
1558 exhibitors attending from 51 countries. The
total number of exhibitors did decline somewhat
compared to last year—with 90 fewer companies
taking part—but the number of countries represented was up from 47 in 2008.
