The editors of offer up some unsolicited opinions about guitars and six-string life.
Guitar Center Trades 10% Off for Non-Perishables in November– Gear discounts
and feeding the hungry? Happy Thanksgiving indeed.
Bill Ruppert’s Effectology from EH – Ruppert can achieve some crazy sounds using
Electro-Harmonix pedals, and he tells you how to do it. From jets taking off to spot-on
recreations of classics, they’re a must-watch.
Four One-Off Beatles LPs Unearthed – It seems a Capitol Records employee went
rouge and printed four records unlike any other. We just love that this exists—and love
thinking of what else might be out there.
United Loses Dave Carroll’s Bags – We don’t know what’s more shocking, the fact
that United dared to lose the luggage of the “United Breaks Guitars” guy or that Carroll was
flying United again.
Hagstrom Joins the Amazon Ranks – Hagstrom has joined Taylor, G&L, PRS and many
other brands that are selling their mid- and low-level models on Amazon. Will it expand to high-end instruments? What does it mean for retailers? We’re going to wait and see.
WEBWHISPERS A sampling of what we’ve heard on premierguitar.com in the past month
“I always keep a few extra cases (empty) around that have
blue masking tape on them that says repair. Then I just use
those to smuggle in whatever. I’m lucky though... She would
not know a Squire from an Esquire, or a Les Paul from a Paul
Smith. Gretsch, Guild, Gibson are all ‘G’ guitars. Get it? It’s
all mumbo jumbo to her. I also use the ‘oh, that’s a bass’ too.
BTW, all of my guitars have instructions in the cases on what
to do with them, or how much to sell them for in case she
ever kills me.”

“As a three-fold customer of Lance, I can only concur that he makes an
awesome instrument. I was introduced to them via a friend over a year
ago. After an extended period of “trying” it, I knew I had to have one.
After another few days, it confirmed the best guitar decision I’ve ever
made. I’m getting three Kragenbrinks: an OMFS, an E2-12 string and a
baritone/dred. These guitars aren’t just good, they’re inspirational.”

“Yay, more Chinese amps?”
“what a happy
sounding amp.”
“Yay, another trendy name brand
snob? Open your ears and close
your eyes! Besides, if they made
it here your comment would be,
‘It’s too expensive!’”
