Pete Townshend subjects one of his many custom-modded Eric Clapton model Strats to a series of
windmills in Philadelphia. The guitar has a Fishman
piezo bridge pickup which is boosted by an EMG
preamp; the acoustic-sounding signal goes through
a Demeter tube DI straight to the board. The signal
from his stock Gold Lace Sensor pickups goes into
Vibro-King 3x10 combos with 2x12 extension cabs.
The concert was part of what has been referred to
as the best day ever in Philadelphia, with two other
big events happening across the street: the Eagles
beat the Falcons 27–14, and the Phillies beat the
Rays in Game 4 of the World Series, improving
their series lead to 3–1.
