Doug Fieger of the Knack gets his Strat motor
runnin’, his motor runnin’, with bandmate Berton
Averre’s Les Paul to create the tone that drives
the ubiquitous G–C–B% power-chord-based riff
in “My Sharona.” Sadly, Fieger died of cancer
February 14, 2010. Bruce Kulick, Jeff Lynne and
Joe Walsh were among the guitarists who paid
their respects at his memorial service.
