John Paul Jones’ custom 8-string bass lap steel,
which he uses on the Them Crooked Vultures
song, “No One Loves Me & Neither Do I,” was
made by British luthier and long-time Jones tech
Hugh Manson. The instrument, which is based on
a Melobar, is basically a lap steel guitar with extra
bass strings and a Korg Kaoss Pad MIDI controller.
