Rich Robinson coaxes his signature rock/blues tones out
of his Bigsby-equipped ’ 64 Gibson ES-335 as the Black
Crowes open their Doheny Blues Festival set with “Sting
Me.” Robinson used a number of vintage and modern
guitars during his performance, including a ’ 64 Tele and a
’ 99 Trussart SteelPhonic, but kept going back to the 335.
He closed the show with it, too—grinding out the chord-
driven signature licks of “Remedy.”
