DAVE MURRAY
1. Except for the Floyd Rose trem, this
Fender Dave Murray Signature Strat is
exactly the same as Fender’s production
model, which is based on Murray’s ’ 57 Strat
that originally belonged to the late Paul
Kossoff. When on tour, Murray plays this
Strat every night on “Iron Maiden.” The
guitar features DiMarzio Super Distortion
pickups in the neck and bridge positions.
2. Murray’s cream American Standard Strat
is approximately 15 years old and features
hardware identical to his main black Strat.
3. New for the Final Frontier tour, this Les
Paul is completely stock. Murray originally
bought it for practicing in hotels, but it was
so nice he now plays it onstage. It’s the first
Les Paul he has used live in about 20 years.
The top is so flamey that the burst pops
out on the Jumbo Tron.
4. Dave Murray’s main American Standard
Strat, which he uses both onstage and in
the studio, features a maple neck, a Floyd
Rose tremolo, and Seymour Duncan Hot
Rails pickups.
