5. Murray controls his pedals onstage with a
Rocktron All Access MIDI controller patched into a
Pete Cornish switcher. A massive Jimi Hendrix and
Robin Trower fan, Murray uses his new Fulltone
Deja’Vibe for both solos and clean rhythm parts. His
wah of choice is a Fulltone Clyde Standard wah.
DAVE MURRAY
(cont’d)
6. Murray uses his TC Electronic G-Force (which is
sandwiched between two pairs of Marshall JMP-1s
and JFX-1s) for about seven patch changes. The
G-Force connects to the Marshall JMP- 1 effects loop.
The JMP- 1 then feeds the return of three Marshall
JCM2000 heads, which are only used as power amps.
All rack devices are connected to a Pete Cornish
power supply and routing unit, both of which are visible here above the yellow-taped Korg DTR- 1 tuner.
JANICK GERS
130 PREMIER GUITAR NOVEMBER 2010
www.premierguitar.com
1. Janick Gers’ main guitar is this Strat,
which he uses for about 75% of the
live show. It has Seymour Duncan JB Jr.
(neck and bridge) and Hot Rails (
middle) pickups, as well as lots of tape on
the back to protect the guitar from his
metal belt. Gers also throws this guitar
around a bit—note the battle scars.
