Willie Nelson picks away at what is
perhaps the world’s most recogniz-
able instrument that’s still on duty—
“Trigger,” his trusty 1969 Martin N- 20.
The guitar has a sitka spruce top,
rosewood back, neck, and sides, and
an ebony fretboard. In 1999, Martin
produced a limited run of 100 replica
models. Based on Nelson’s instrument,
the N-20WN sports several additions,
including inlays of the state of Texas
and Nelson’s signature.
