Auction Vintage
Guitar Collection

The editors of Premier Guitar offer up some unsolicited opinions about guitars and 6-string life.
nE W YORK, n Y – Actor and long-time guitar collector Richard Gere
will auction 110 lots of vintage
guitars and amps at an October
11 auction through Christie’s. The
Richard Gere Guitar Collection
includes vintage Martin, Gibson,
Fender, Gretsch, and Epiphone
guitars, as well as vintage amps.
Highlights of the collection
include a 1931 Martin D- 28,
an Albert King-owned 1958
Gibson Flying V Prototype,
a James D’Aquisto-owned
1935 John D’Angelico Exel, a
1953 Fender Telecaster, a 1960
Gibson ES-335 TD, and a 1954
Fender Stratocaster.
Christie’s estimates that the
auction total will be around
$1,000,000.
