FIND YOUR FIT
CHOOSING THE RIGHT ACOUSTIC GUITAR
There’s something deeply inspiring about discovering a guitar that sings in your hands. The good news: You have more choices than
ever. The bad news: You have more choices than ever. We can help.
At Taylor, we’ve made it our mission to help players find the right
acoustic guitar for their playing style. At our in-store Road Shows and
special Find Your Fit events, we break acoustic guitar tone down to its
fundamental ingredients to help players find the guitar that will bring out
their best. It all comes down to choosing the right body shape and tonewood pairing to complement the way you play.
BODY SHAPES
An acoustic guitar’s body contours literally shape the voice that comes
out of it. Taylor offers a body shape for every type of player. As you consider different body styles, think about the role you want the guitar to
play. Whether you’re looking for a big, bold strummer, an intimate fingerpicker, or a jack-of-all-trades to handle a range of playing styles, the right
body shape will give you a strong foundation for the tone you crave.
Grand Auditorium
Taylor’s signature shape embodies the ultimate all-purpose acoustic. Its
medium size is big enough to give fingerpickers good volume and small
enough to offer superb tonal balance. It can handle everything from
medium strumming to moderate flatpicking and any type of fingerstyle.
Grand Symphony
Taylor’s boldest, richest acoustic voice yields lots of volume and dynamic range. Its low end is incredibly deep, the midrange has plenty of girth,
and the trebles are thick, yet articulate. The GS blends responsiveness
with the horsepower to satisfy strong pickers and strummers.
Grand Concert
Taylor’s most compact body shape curbs the acoustic overtones, so it
doesn’t take up a lot of sonic space in a mix. It’s a great choice for the
stage and studio, especially when used with other instruments. It’s also
physically comfortable for players who favor smaller guitars.
