Resort in Big Indian, New
York, from December 26 to
December 30. This retreat is
the first winter installment
of the Music Masters Camp
series. Previous camps have
featured Dweezil Zappa, Todd
Rundgren, Adrian Belew, and
Tony Levin.
During the all-inclusive stay,
both Broderick and Skolnick
will hold a variety of workshops
and seminars covering topics
such as two-handed tapping,
improvisation, developing
leads, jazz theory, guitar history, understanding rhythm,
and life as a professional musician. Bassist Nathan Peck
and drummer Matt “Zebar”
Zebroski—both members of
Skolnick’s trio—will serve as
the rhythm section for the
retreat. Guitarists of all talent levels are invited to attend
the retreat, which will include
Megadeth’s Chris Broderick and Testament’s Alex Skolnick team up to drop some knowledge on aspiring
